This morning, Ford Motor Company issued a press release announcing that the it has achieved its highest March sales total in ten years. The automaker delivered 254,711 vehicles last month, an increase of eight percent of March 2015. First quarter numbers rose nine percent to 645,626.

"Customers continue buying high-end SUVs and trucks, helping the Ford brand increase its average transaction prices by more than $1,600 per vehicle in March – nearly double the industry average,” said Mark LaNeve, Ford vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service. “We have been seeing solid sales momentum in the first quarter across our entire portfolio, with car, SUV and truck sales up across the board."

Ford Brand SUV sales are enjoying their best start in history, with first quarter sales exceeding 188,100, an increase of 15 percent. Sales of the Ford Edge saw the biggest jump, up 49 percent over the previous year. F-Series sales exceed 70,000 in March. This was the first time since 2007 F-Series has broken the 70,000 mark this early in the year.
