Tires inherently do not wear evenly. This is due in part to the type of car, truck or sport utility you drive. It is also due to simple vehicle dynamics such as the difference in handling between the front of your vehicle and the rear of your vehicle. What do I mean by this? Whenever you take a curve, or negotiate obstacles in your roadway, you are placing added strain or stress on the inner and outer tires.
To help alleviate this wear and to keep you from being required to replace your tires early, it is highly recommended that you rotate your tires periodically. The recommended period to rotate your tires is every six to eight thousand miles, or about every other oil change. By rotating your tires, you are giving each tire ample time to wear more evenly. This can save you hundreds of dollars over the course of you owning your vehicle.
