Fuel efficiency is an important part of the driving experience in Billings. Not only does good gas mileage help you go further, it also helps your wallet because you spend less at the gas station. We shared some ways to give your Lincoln a fuel efficient boost in our last post, and we're back with more:
- When you follow a vehicle closely, you end up braking and reaccelerating more often with their speed changes. But your engine uses more fuel every time you accelerate. Increase your following distance so that you have room to coast when the vehicle in front of you slows down, and you won't have to reaccelerate as much when they speed up again.
- A cold engine is an inefficient engine. If you have an extensive list of errands, try to get them all done in one trip. That way your engine won't have time to cool down between trips, and it'll stay warm and efficient.
- Bald, damaged, or underinflated tires require more energy from your engine to move. Regularly check your tire pressure, and keep your tires healthy by getting routine tire rotations. If it's time for new ones, you can find the right tires for your Lincoln through Bob Smith Lincoln, Inc.
Have a fuel efficient drive through Laurel, Hardin, Powell, and Red Lodge!
